Vaquetta Leather is used in the trimmings of luggage, handbags and briefcases, popularized because of its large usable surface at a reasonable cost. The leather is left untreated and is therefore susceptible to water and stains over the course of time. Sunlight will cause the natural leather to darken in shade, ie. the color of the item becomes darker. This effect is called a Patina and typically is considered to give the item charachter.
